June 6th-Engleburg, Switzerland

By far the best day of the entire trip and I don't even know what is to come.  I already told you Switzerland was the most beautiful place on earth. The water is so clear blue and cold. The swift moving water against the green hills and snowcapped mountains is something you only hear about in books and magazines, knowing you probably won't see anything like it in your lifetime. I did though! I am still in shock that I stood on top of Europe's tallest suspension bridge on Mt. Titlis. We could not have asked for better weather and compared to the rain we have had in pretty much every other country, the sunshinre and cloudless skys was a literal God send. I am absolutely positively in love with this place. I got to snow tube down a mountain in the Swiss Alps. AHHH!! I took a video of me tubing but it only sent to Christian. You better enjoy it boy. Also, there were some snow balls that got into my tube somehow and my hind quarters are still wet. Mt. Titlus is 10,000 ft of perfection and we stood at the top!! We rode the world's first rotating cable car (super neat) and went through a glacier cave.

Yes, I am wearing keens in the snow. And Katelyn had on chacos. We came prepared.

It is hard to find words to describe the scenery honestly. I have never seen something so expansive and breathtaking; unforgettable and "untoppable".

Donna and Jason outdid themselves again this morning. They had fresh croissants, different juice, breakfast bars, yogurt, cereal and probably sugar plum fairies. They had hats, gloves, and scarves laid out with hand drawn maps and directions. If you thought it could get any better, they had change in a bowl for us to grab and pay for the tram. STOP BEING SO WONDERFUL. We are going to leave here, back to the wild and be swiftly eaten up because our survival skills have disappeared.

Being in a home and a place like the Alps reminds me of how thankful I am to have the opportunity to travel the world. On the mountain today I took a picture for and Indian couple and after I took it, the wife asked me to please take a picture with her because she was so glad to have gotten the chance to meet me. It was a simple moment but so sweet and I shared the happiness in my experience of meeting people from opposite ends of the world on top of a mountain thousands of miles from either of our homes. It puts it all into perspective and reminds me that this vast world of inequality and suffering and hardships, there is still community, joy, and dreams. It is a small place we live in.

After I have said something nice, I may as well complain. Isn't that how it works? Well the thing is, I paid for data aborad because there are documents saved online that I may need access to as I travel between countries. Well I have been using it every now and then to look things up and talk to people when I haven't had wifi in a few days. Today I got a text that said my international data usage was so high that they were suspending it because I didn't have a plan. I paid $120 for 8GB of data. I have used 45MB. I have a long way to go until I reach my data and you better believe I am going to get all $120 worth. I mean, that is a lot of money and I went out of my way to make sure i wouldn't have a problem using it and now I am suspended??? AT&T, I do not appreciate this.

Oh and I lost a pair of sunglasses today. I guess that is precisely why I brought two.

I think we may go to a local pub tonight that Jason suggested, after Donna shows us around Basel that is. I will let you know how that goes, but we have an early morning tomorrow to France, so nothing too wild. Maybe.
