May 29th- Krakow, Poland

7 am comes early. Especially when you wake up in a twin bed fully clothed from the day before with one of your roommates. See what had happened was... after doing a 12 hour day with Auschwitz and the Salt mine, we decided that that also had to be our night out as it was our last night in Krakow. So of course our hostel offers pub crawls every night. At dinner we met the two best people in the world- Alex and James from the UK. They are on holiday together (their first time alone). They are childhood friends and get this- their dads were in a band together back in the day and thats why they have always been close family friends! They were going to the pub crawl as well they thought as well as our other new friends also named Alex and Alex- both from the states, just finishing their respective study abroad programs (Copenhagen and Norway). So we had our shots, or 3, with dinner and then all walked together to the brother hostel for the 1 hour free of unllimited drinks. What that meant was an hour of knocking back shots (mixed shots- don't worry) and playing drinking games with like 20 other young travelers! It was reallllllly really fun! After that hour we went to the 1st pub and had more shots.

After we were done there we went to the club momentarily. We had a member of our party who couldn't really stand so we didn't get to stay long.

After a very long day and a long night too I sat down n the edge of the bed and then just layed back. Next thing I knew, it was 7 am and Michelle had crawled into bed with me. Snuggle fest late night??

After breakfast, we met Alex and James like we discussed last night to do a Cybil guided walking tour around the Old Town. Ole' Ricky Steves planned it for us, but we got to see the Planty (once a moat, now a park), St. Mary's Cathedral, the Cloth Hall and market, St. Francis Basilica and Archbishop's Palace,  Main Market square, and Wawel Castle and ground complete with Dragon's Den. It was a great tour and super informative on the history of Krakow.

After that, the girls and I went to Schindler's Factory Museum which was really long. HAHA. It was also really informative about Poland during World War II. I enjoyed the museum but it was on a bit of a time crunch because we had a train to catch. We were going to try to go to a milk bar for dinner but like everything else today, it was CLOSED. Oh my word. A milk bar is a cafeteria that was invented during the communist era to provide people an opportunity to go out and eat substantial meals for cheap as a government subsidy program. We ended up running to the hostel and grabbing our "rucksacks" (thanks Alex and James) before headed to the train station. Had to get our tickets for the Poland portion of this train ride and then attempt to activiate our Eurail passes. bajdbgdngjkabdjgba it was difficult and I am tired, etc. Ate McDonalds. Go America.

So many laughs today and so many memories in Krakow. Love our new friends and I can't wait to see them again in Zurich- If you guys are reading this (which you should be), you better be there. Enjoy Budapest and tell us what we must see! Also, I suggest the Invisible Exhibition- sounds right up your crazy alley.
